In an article published as News & Views in Nature Materials, Christos discusses how ferroelectric polarisation enables the emergence and control of magnetic skyrmions. Electrically-controlled nanoscale magnetism at an interface of oxide heterostructures expands the library of materials hosting skyrmions and points to a promising direction to engineer and electrically manipulate chiral magnetic structures at the atomic scale.
