Microwave resonances of magnetic skyrmions in thin film multilayers:

Writing in Nature Communications, our group has published the first study of the dynamical properties of Néel skyrmions in thin film heterostructures at microwave frequencies.  As well as discovering a new collective skyrmion oscillation, we also demonstrated how the skyrmion resonant mode frequencies can be modulated via the magnetic multilayer architecture.   These abilities promise a bright future for skyrmions in magnonic and synaptic devices.

We gratefully acknowledge our collaborators in Germany, Ukraine and China.
